Guanajuato, Guanajuato

October 31st we took a bus from San Miguel and headed for Guanajuato, which is a state, and a capital city. It’s very old like San Miguel, but much much larger. San Miguel is like a vacation town for Mexicans to get away from the city, while Guanajuato has Universities, theatres, and one of the most active arts, culture and historical scenes. In addition, it was built on top of a mine (mostly opals I believe) and so is nestled in the mountains and riddled with tunnels and winding stairs. Once you’ve been to the beach in Mexico, this should be your second destination. It. Is. Awesome.
